IEE System on Chip, Test and Technology

This is the first time that I visited Cardiff, the capital city of Wales for a friendly national conference organised by IEE.

The first day that I arrived, we have got a nice buffet in the city hall. The city hall is quite grand... with a dome roof, featured by a dragon on the top (The symbol of Wales is a 'red' dragon).

Around the city hall, there are a number of nice gardens, which are open for public :)

The main entrance to the university of Cardiff is nearby the city hall (see below). The bulding itself is quite grand and have a different architecture from most of ancient British buildings (e.g. it made me feel that I have got a chance to go to Italy).

Night Out

I have met three new friends from University of Manchester (Asynchronous people), which are Gift, Bill and Li, and we all decided to go out for a night-life sight-seeing around Cardiff's bay area in order to get to know each others and have some fun :)

The area is very beautiful with a great mixture of both new and old architectures...

We have found out that we all will have to present our papers on the same date. So, we decided to share our resource such as a laptop and a pen drive to make our presentation less complication.

Cardiff Castle

Cardiff Castle is my unexpected little advanture. I first thought that the place seems to offer nothing since its size, looking from outside, is pretty small compared to the other palce.

However...

After I entered the place, I chose to follow a guide tour to see the inside decoration of the palace. Amazingly, I must admit that this castle is the "most" splendid european castle that I have ever seen.

I really like the architecture and feel so sad that I could not take any photos to show you here. Thus, all of the photos on this page are from outside, where a number of friendly peacocks are the main attractions.

I must say that I have really got a nice time there. The conference is nice and the place is very cosy.

Travelling alone for a business trip (e.g. conference) becomes one of my habit. I think I gain quite a lot from each journey... experience, friendship, knowledge and many more @^_^@
