It was on the 4th of April, 2004 (aka. 4/4/4) that our gangz decided to go to see a football match in Liverpool's Anfield stadium. The gangz consists of two 'pure' liverpool fans, which are Khun Aun+, who is the main organiser, and nong^ Ohm... together with the 'fake' kops who didn't mind to cheer liverpool and always have a dream to see the Premier League once in our life time, yet these people are P' Mod (Spur fan) and me (the red devil fan).

Our journey starts from Cambridge around 4am!!! Khun Aun+ drove all the ways and drop by "Peak district" national park for a breakfast with a nice view (around 8am). Althought, peak district is not as good as I expected :'(

After that, Khun Aun+ decided to drove via Manchester and continuted to Liverpool's Mersey site for a short tour around the area. We had lunch on the 4th floor of the maritime museam with a nice view of the Albert dock.

After the meal, Khun Aun+ and Nong^ Ohm had a joke about number 4. For example, we were 4 people, went to see the match on the 4/4/4, left cambridge at 4am, had our lunch on the 4th floor and Liverpool was on the 4th place in the league. Therefore, the guys concluded that the result of the coming Liverpool match will be 4-0.

They continue predicted that the goal will be

1. After four minutes
2. After fourty-four minutes
3. At four o'clock (Thai 'mong')
3. At four fourty-four (Thai 'mong')

After that, we went to Anfield quite early to get a good parking space and enjoy the atmospear. Unfortunately, the weather was so strange that day (In loop: cloudy >> shower >> rain >> heavy rain >> sunshire >> cloudy again >> etc).

Surprisingly, a number of people also came before time. The parking space filled up very quick and when we went to the Liverpool shop, we have found a really really long queue.

Anyhow, we went to the shop for short while to escape from the rain and kill the time. However, we decided not to buy anything since the buying queue is also quite long.

Thereafter, around 2pm, we decided go enter the stadium a bit earlier than most of the others in order to have a good look around (since we sat saparately, due to the late booking). The crowd steward was very helpful about finding our seat and we got some free time to walk around and took a number of photos of Anfield.

One thing that I like about the place is an area for the disability (behind the goal of the stadium opposite from 'home-only' stand).

The lucky thing about being early is the good chance to watch the footballers from both team performing their exercise. They came quite early (around 30 minutes before the match)... starting from the goals of Blackburn, following by the goals of Liverpool, the Blackburn team and the Liverpool team.

An exercise looks a bit like some good performance for me. The players from both teams run around... looking more relax than when they play. Liverpool team has a good "circle" warm up. They got together in circle and running back and forth. This created such a nice view for the audience like us (@^_^@)

Before the game, we had also got a chance to see the Liverpool Lady team (picture below)

When the game started, the kops sang a wonderful "You will never walk alone" song. They all stood up, showed their Liverpool scarves, waved their flags and many more...

I was very impressed by the moment and hadn't notice the game for a really short while during the song.

A bit sad that I could not sing along with them (T_T)

After that, surprisingly, Liverpool led the game (1-0). The picture above is the one I shot a second after the goal (didn't expect that it will be the goal).

Khun Aun+ has got a really nice view near the corner (a guy in a dark-blue fluffy jacket who watched very near the corner is Khun Aun+).

Nong^ Ohm has also got a good place in the front row close to the centre of the field as well. P' Mod got an 18th row with a good 3-D view and the 1st seat of the 6th row was reserved for me :)

The game went very fast... a little while later, Blackburn defender mistakenly scored his own goal (so sad for them). So, it became two nil unexpectedly.

The good thing about the moment was the Kops and the announcers did not show any cheers... it was quite a good spirit to do that.

Picture on the left is the approximate real size that I can see the player in my view... not to bad, I suppose :)

Then, Owen scored the second goal for Liverpool (and for himself)... the score became 3-0 (including the Blackburn's own goal) and then, it was the half time :)

In the second half, the game continued a bit slowly in the first place but went well afterward. Finally, A. Heskey (called by lots of Liverpool fan) made the fourth and final goal. Yes, finally, the game finished with 4-0... surprisingly, as Khun Aun+ and Ohm's prediction. This seems to be the real 4/4/4 surprising coincedent (^_^')...

"You will never walk alone"

when you walk through a storm
hold your head up high
and don't be afraid of the dark
at the end of a storm is a golden sky
and the sweet silver song of a lark

walk on through the wind
walk on through the rain
tho' your dreams be tossed and blown
walk on, walk on
with hope in your heart
and you'll never walk alone
you'll never walk alone...
