Before the show...

This year is (hopefully) my final Thai Night ..^_^.. So, I decided to be in charge of a number of responsibilities ranging from preparing stuffs in Thailand (printing material, sponsors and shopping) in December, designing a leaflet (above-left), creating a slide show (below), taking care of cloth/dressing, being a head of reception & a stage manager, serving wine and doing labour works (above).

We are quite lucky that several members (include me) have volunteered to take care some major duties since the start (e.g. since a meeting in the end of November). Probably, this is because last year our society has a financial crisis. So, everyone turned up as a team in order to help each other :') I'm so impressed! Therefore, every preparations went quite smooth. And... finally, thing ended up beautifully in a great hall that has a really nice stage which suites our big performance in the Parkside Community College (the one near Parket's Piece)...

Welcome to our Thai Night 2003 =

The door opens at 7pm, a number of guests arrived before time. Our reception team tried our best to provide a warm welcome to our guests with a luxurious souvenior (cheap in budget but lots of labour work) with a mini exhibition about Thailand (leaflets, curved vegetable/fruit, auromatic smell and art & craft stuffs).

Among our guests, there are my supervisor -- Dr Simon Moore (the person whom I talked with in the picture on the right) and his wife, Myra (the lady with a red top in the picture on the left).

In addition, one of my friend from the Springboard program -- Judith Jeskey (the lady in the picture on the right) also came with her husband as well. Thus, I was so glad that this year we changed the location because this is a good place that allows people on a wheel chair to be able access (e.g. last year our hall was pretty inconvenient... it was in the second floor of the Church @ regent street).

Let the show begin...

The show starts with a slide multivision that I'm, personally, pretty pround of ^_^ because it is the one that I have got time to do it in detail, with a suitable theme and wonderful photos from various sources, plus many helps about revision/comment from friends.

Yes, you can enjoy it by clicking on this "Sa-was-dee" page (on the left). It is a simple powerpoint presentation with some animation as a special effects. However, I must warn you that its size is almost 20Mbytes! (Hey, this is less than my 100MBytes slide last year + more beautiful na...)

Then, during a main course, we provided some live Thai music . Nong^ Tae^ kindly showed her talented in Jra-Key (จะเข้), following by such a beautiful series of songs from Kim (ขิม) by our expert -- Nong^ Ryce.

After that, we played a short VDO from our Tourist Authority of Thailand letting all of our guests finished their dessert... and....

Yes, it is a time for the most romantic drama that we have ever played (because it is our first time!)... The certains were (manually) opened with a wonder sound effects selected by P' Boy (+ a support team -- Nong^ Boon, Leo and Born) displaying a little Kra-thong shop, own by P' Jamorn, and three little kids (Mew, Dao, Air) playing fake sparkling cold fire (Actually, we planed to use a real one... but its smoke simply trigged the alarm system in our final rehearsal = we can't use them :'| ).

Act I: In the full moon night of Loy Krathong festival... ... ... here come a couple very much in love

A couple is P' Wendy and Knot (Narated by Wut [Rob] and Christina).

During the romantic scene, our narator announce that:

Attention please, there is a show in the temple court yard...

Yes! it is time for our first dancing performance... the "Forn Chom Duarn" (ฟ้อนชมเดือน). This is the Northern Style dance to show how beautiful Thai Dance can be (eiei). The dance is about the moon and a beauty of lady. Yeps!, I danced in this show as well (the lady in a pink dress is me). Our teacher for this dance is Por (the one in the yellow dress). My teammates are Rat (the lady in the purple dress) and Sa' (the lady in a white/black dress).

Act II: Guess who?...

The romantic camera-view kissing scene is too sweet for me to put here (=^_^=). So, I skip photos from Loy-Krathong event (Though I'm quite pround of my air-bed & blue pha-prae as a water).

Next, before P' Ake (Knot) walked nong^ Ploy (P' Wendy) back. A drunker (Mhing) appeared destroying a shop and scares everybody (e.g. the team at the back who were stunned by his talented in acting). So, It's time for our hero to show his talent in Thai Boxing!

Finally, in Thai-Thai style, the hero won and got a chance to ask for his girl to get marry with him (e.g. Till love do us part ^^').

Thus, the certain closed... everyone get change! (As a stage manager -- this scene is the toughness one to get everyone ready)

And here come Act III: Khun-Mhark /Klong-Yao parade, Soo-Khor and The wedding ceremony!!!

Act IV: Klong Yao Dance

Yes, it's time for a calebration! We finalised our show by a cheerful dance of Klong Yao by nong^ Mew (the lady in red dress), Krit (paired with mew), Ryce (the lady in yellow dress) and Jak (paired with Ryce).

That's all for the night. Our MC (Kob & Helen) finalised the event and we all performers fairwell our guests from the stage ..^_^..

@}---,---'---

By the way, all photos in this Album aren't taken by me (Because I was so busy that day). So, I must thank Johnny He (left) -- my friend from Microprocessor Lab @ Engineering Department, Air (right), Simon Moore (my supervisor), Krit (I've got your photos from Leo's machine -- eiei) and Born (I just realised that you're so good at photographing!)
