The reason that I travelled to Yokohama is to attend the Cool Chips conference (International Symposium in Low-power and High-Performance circuit design).

This time, I had to present in the final day again (similar to the ICCD conference last year). This time, the presentation went without any parallel sessions (e.g. in the main conference).

I've got to know a number of nice people. Especailly, some of Cambridge alumni, people from UK and the organiser team.

Yokohama is a huge modern city (the second largest in Japan). It is located only 30 minutes by train from Tokyo. This city used to be a small fishman village but has grown due to an influence of international cultures once it was selected to be the first international port of Japan. Nowsaday, it is a business city with high cost of leaving, beautiful ports, famous basketball club and has the highest building in Japan (Landmark).

What I felt amaze about Japan's technology is the toilet system which has various control unit such as a music!

The Hotel Yokohama is located in the Kannai area (The city centre of Yokohama). The staff here is pretty friendly but, the same as every place, could not speak English fluently. The view of this hotel is excellent... the business area/international port on the left and industrial on the right.

Luckily, April is one of the most beautiful time to visit Japan. This is because of all the Cherry blossom and Tulip that enrich everything.

There is two distinct area in Yokohama that I like. Once is the hugest Chinatown which cover around one forth of the city centre. The other is Noge area which preserves old tradition, shop and Japanese culture.

Sankei garden is one of the most beutiful park in Japan. It is famous for the old three stories pagonda and a number of preserved traditional Japanese houses.

The left is a beautiful ship near yamashita park (a beautiful part near by the sea). The below of it is myself with a modern architecture in the yamashita part. Below is a fence of the doll museum just opposite the park.

Below from left to right: a collection of yokohama tile, the place that Japan sign a peace treaty with American, the dolls for boy/girl festival and the hand stamp of baseball fishers from the team that won a title every year..
